What is Direct Loan Entrance Counseling?

Direct Loan Entrance Counseling will explain the Direct Loan process, including types of loans, interest rates, repayment terms, etc. These are the conditions you agree to meet as a condition for receiving a Federal Direct Loan.  New Life Theological Seminary requires a copy of the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling Form and the Master Promissory Note before any processing of Financial aid will occur. 

How do I Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling?

Entrance Counseling is provided via an interactive session of sixteen topics. Each Counseling Session page will provide you with information about Federal Direct Loans. There will be a quiz at the end of each section. You must complete each section and answer all the questions in order to select the "Continue" button and view the next page.

Can I Save My Session?

Your progress will not be saved if you navigate away from your Direct Loan Counseling session or logout of the Student Loans web site.Your progress will not be saved if you navigate away from your Direct Loan Counseling session or log out of the Student Loans web site.

It should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete the entire entrance counseling session.
